Siege of Fort William Henry, 1757

The forward battery sustains a hit to the powder store and suffers catastrophic loss

French engineers put the final touches on the assault plan, and write the letter to Monroe offering a last chance to surrender with honour.


















French forces mass at the forward most trench line, preparing for the final assault. Mortars are deployed to further reduce the defenders.

And they commence trying to force it open
